Structural survey
Buildings are bought and sold subject to a structural survey. It must be carried out promptly within an agreed timescale of the purchase – often as short as a few days.
That means it is vital you hire the right company for the job, one that can work quickly and accurately, and work the long hours required to complete the survey, and issue a report, on time.
Examine every element of the building
During a structural survey, we examine the current condition of every element of the building. This includes the roof, walls, floors, doors, drains, heating and electrics.
We provide the investor with a structural report (see photo of typical report) that will highlight all defects, and the potential problems that could lead from them.
Cost of repairs
The structural survey report will also advise on the cost of correcting each of these defects. Some repairs will be the responsibility of the building owner and others will be down to the tenants. Determining which is which is the next part of our property survey.
